Cassie Norton - Clinical Mental Health Counselor Utah The Therapy Room

Cassie Norton - CMHC

I’m a licensed clinical mental health counselor, and I specialize in helping people untangle the impact of childhood trauma, perfectionism, body shame, and anxiety. My work centers around creating a space where you feel truly seen—where the parts of you that had to hold it all together for so long can finally soften.

Therapy with me is about more than coping—it’s about healing. Whether you’re just beginning to explore your story or have been on this path for a while, you deserve support that honors both your pain and your potential.

Hi, I’m Cassie

  • I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Utah Valley University. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals navigating a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, body image issues, identity exploration, and disordered eating.

I bring both clinical training and lived empathy to my work, helping clients feel seen and supported as they reconnect with themselves. My approach is deeply informed by attachment theory, parts work, and body-based healing

  • My therapeutic approach blends Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) with a warm, person-centered foundation. I believe the most transformative healing happens in the context of safe connection.

More than anything, I aim to be a grounding presence—someone who can sit with you in the hard stuff, help you quiet self-doubt, and gently guide you back to the parts of yourself that long to feel whole.

  • I specialize in working with clients navigating eating disorders, complex trauma, and self-worth struggles. I also have experience supporting those exploring faith transitions, neurodivergence, or family-of-origin wounds.

In addition to talk therapy, I integrate somatic techniques, inner child work, and mindfulness-based tools to support holistic healing.

Whether you’re looking to make peace with your body, explore your identity, or simply feel more like yourself again, we’ll move at your pace—together.

  • Over the years, I’ve slowly unlearned the pressure to be constantly productive. As I’ve stepped away from hustle culture, I’ve found joy in the quieter parts of life—like baking sourdough, tending to my many houseplants, and spending time with my very affectionate cat. I love the calm that follows a good thunderstorm, the smell of fresh air through open windows, and getting outside for slow walks in nature. These small rituals have become some of my favorite ways to stay grounded.
